For people with a severe mental illness such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, research concludes that psychological treatments can improve medication compliance, reduce negative behaviours and provide coping skills.
Bridges Psychology Practice complements our mental health recovery and drug and alcohol treatment services. We specialise in providing evidence-based treatment for adults and young people (aged 12 years and over) who have a moderate to severe mental illness, suicide ideation, dual diagnosis, complex needs, or early signs of psychosis.
More recently, we have introduced psychological services for children and young people. We have modified our facilities to cater for families and children.
Bridges employs a Psychologist and a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker each with extensive knowledge and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders and working with people with a serious mental illness and/or dual diagnosis.
Access to the Psychology Practice is via GP or Psychiatrist referral as part of a Mental Health Treatment Plan, self-referral, and referrals directly from employers or through an Employee Assistance Program.
Our Psychology Practice is not government funded. Our mission is to provide clients with a professional psychological service at minimal cost. We charge a fee for service at a reasonable and competitive rate; including a concession for current Healthcare card or Pension card holders. Clients who are referred under a Mental Health Treatment Plan will receive a Medicare rebate, with a small out of pocket gap fee.
EFTPOS facilities available.
