Bridges Health & Community Care is Wide Bay’s longest established, leading provider of community-based mental health and drug and alcohol services.
We offer a range of interventions from psychological services, care coordination for people with serious mental illness and complex needs, through to counselling for youth, adults, families and carers. We offer training and mental health promotion services to increase awareness & understanding of mental illness, drugs and alcohol and reduce stigma and discrimination.
We are a not-for-profit community-based organisation, governed in accordance with the requirements of the Office of Fair Trading and are Quality Accredited under AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008. Our Board includes representatives from the health, drug and alcohol, consumer, business, finance and community sectors.
Our organisational structure is designed to ensure that all programs have sufficient support, expertise and resources to deliver pre-determined outcomes within budget, satisfy reporting and evaluation requirements and operate within the parameters of our Policies and Procedures.
Our staff have qualifications and experience within either or both the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs sector and several have a lived experience of mental illness or substance misuse, we also employ intentional peer support workers and indigenous support staff. The Board and management are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all staff that includes continued professional development, clinical supervision, clinical governance and performance review.
Bridges operates from modern, refurbished premises in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, and Gayndah that provide dignified and inviting accommodation and surroundings. We also offer satellite services in Nanango, Childers, Eidsvold and Maryborough.
